JOB DUTIES
Report to Claims Deputy Manager and General Manager
Assigned to Claims Division
Job Responsibilities:
- Handling and managing Non-Marine claims including motor claims in HCMC
- Conduct recovery in cases where applicable
- Conduct survey as in-house surveyors
- Others jobs as assigned by Management
- To assist the daily management and operation related to Non-Marine claims at HCMC Office. Besides the assigned
tasks related to Non-Marine Claims, the scope of work can be expanded to particular marine claims cases subject to further assignments by the Claims General Manager and/or Board of Directors
- To comply with guidelines of the Claims Manual and compliance requirements
- To set appropriate reserves within the authorized limit and report to authorized persons as required
- To follow up outstanding claims information and documents and negotiate with claimants for settling of the claims
- To keep a good communication with customers (internal and external) to achieve a greater customer satisfaction claims service
- To observe accuracy, completeness and timeliness when carrying out daily responsibilities
- To offer training, supervision and support to other claims handlers
- Contribute to the sales function of the Company:
- Be alert to identify sales opportunities in the course of handling claims, and drawing these to the attention of appropriate staff without delay
- Assist in handling claims in a way which will enhance the Company’s image and reputation for services of high speed and efficiency
- Keep abreast of development in all classes of insurance in the market in order to identify trends and to formulate and
propose plans to safeguard the Company’s competitive position
- Ensure that cases beyond personal authority are preferred correctly with full supporting information and opinion and that the direction of higher authority is supported and implemented without delays
- To execute other office tasks as required by the Company
Job RequirementS
Desirable Background & Experience:
- Qualification: Graduates with major in technical/ economic field of study
- Language Skills: Good command of English is compulsory 2 years or more of working experience in claims settlement services is preferred
- Be fluent in communication
- Effective inter-personal exchange skills is required to create and expand partnership with internal and external customers as well as to influence the way the business partners think, feel or behave
- Analytical and synthetically ability
